What SI stands for here
Super intelligence. It is our name for the software that does the legwork at The Ledger Law Firm: answering the phone at any hour, putting the facts of a new intake in order, and drafting demand packages from the records.
It describes the tools, and it describes the firm. Software that capable makes the whole office super intelligent, so we say so. The software has never corrected us.
What it does not stand for
- A lawyer. The software is not one, and the assistant on this site says so before you type a word.
- Legal advice. That comes from a licensed attorney.
- Slovenia. We have checked a map and we remain in the United States.
Who went to law school
The lawyers did. The firm has attorneys licensed in California, Texas and Washington, and every legal decision at the firm is made by one of them. An attorney reviews, corrects and signs every demand before it leaves the office.
Why keep the name, then
Because it is short, because it fits on a business card, and because it says the true thing about how the office runs: very capable machines doing the paperwork, and people with licenses doing the law.
A note about notes: these are lighthearted pieces about how our office works. They are not legal advice, and they say nothing about what any case is worth or how it will turn out.
